On permanent display at the New Bedford Art Museum

Kim has created three pedestal urns for the New Bedford Art Museum. The pots were hand thrown on the pottery wheel and then sculptural details were carved. The New Bedford Art Museum's collection of Audubon Paintings was a source of inspiration for the work. The artist views each pot to be a representation of three bird environments: the meadow, the woodland and the ocean. Botanical references have been carved or applied onto the rims and bases of the urns. Allen C. Haskell generously designed and provided plantings for the pots and acted as Kim's hortocultural mentor. New Bedford Art Museum is located at 608 Pleasant Street in New Bedford, Ma. This project was sponsored by the Cultural Council of New Bedford.
